City of Welland: Licenses

No person shall within the limits of the City of Welland hold himself out as a Master Plumber or Journeyman Plumber, or act as a Master Plumber or Journeyman Plumber, or do any plumbing work unless he holds a License issued under the authority of By-law 8324.

“Master Plumber” means a person who is skilled in the planning, superintending and installing of plumbing, is familiar with the laws, rules and regulations governing the same, has a regular place of business in Ontario and who himself or by Journeyman Plumber means a person who has been issued a Certificate of Qualification in the trade of plumber under the Apprenticeship and Tradesmen’s Qualification Act.”

FEES

The fees payable upon Application for License and renewals shall be in accordance with the following schedule:

	MASTER PLUMBER	JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER
Upon an Application for a License	$25.00	$10.00
Upon an Application for a Renewal of License	$25.00	$10.00

Requirements

All Applicants for a Master Plumber’s License must hold a valid Certificate of Qualification for the trade of Plumber under the Apprenticeship and Tradesmen’s Qualification Act and certify that he has been continuously Licensed as a Master Plumber by another Municipality for a period of not less than three (3) years immediately preceding the date of submission of the letter.

Expiry Date

Every License issued shall expire on the 30th day of April next following the date it is expressed to become effective.
