Accessible Conventional Transit Service

Welland Transit is pleased to announce the introduction of accessible conventional transit service on Route 6 Ontario Rd. This brings to 3 the number of accessible conventional transit routes in the City of Welland. Route 6 Ontario Rd. now joins Route 5 Lincoln-Wellington and Route 9 Niagara as fully accessible routes.

Dedicated Accessible Routes

Routes 5, 6 and 9 are now fully accessible transit routes. This means a Low Floor Accessible bus will always be in service on these 3 routes. This will allow persons who require the use of a mobility device access to the conventional transit service.

Accessible Service on other Routes

Accessible service is available on other Welland Transit routes on a limited basis.  Whenever a low floor accessible bus is in service on any Welland Transit route, persons with mobility devices will be able to access the service. 

Handi Trans Registrants

Handi Trans registrants now have the option to use both the conventional accessible service or the Handi Trans System.  A Handi Trans registrant who uses the conventional accessible service will not lose their access to the Handi Trans Service.
