TAX NOTICE

THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY WELLAND

2012 INTERIM TAX BILLING & INSTALLMENT DUE DATES

INSTALLMENT DUE DATES:

Thursday, March 1, 2012
Tuesday, May 1, 2012

           

PAYMENT OF THE INTERIM BILLING MAY BE MADE AS FOLLOWS:

- City Hall, 60 East Main Street, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  After Hours - Mail Slot at front entrance closest to Cross Street, by CHEQUE ONLY.

- Chartered Banks, Caisse Populaire, Credit Union, Trust Companies.  Payments accepted on or before installment due date only.

- Payment by Mail:  Enclose payment stub(s) with cheque/money order.  If a receipt for payment is required, please send a self addressed/stamped envelope along with the entire bill and your payment.

- Please take advantage of our Pre-Authorized Payment Plan.  Information available here or at City Hall.

LATE PAYMENTS are subject to Penalty at 1.25% per month, applicable on the first day after due date.

Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse a taxpayer from the responsibility for payment of taxes and penalties.

PUBLIC NOTICE

CITY OF WELLAND

WINTER SNOW CLEARING OPERATIONS AND PARKING

This Notice is to notify all residents of the City of Welland that the Municipality is ready to commence with its winter snow and ice management program. Public Works staff are now monitoring weather conditions and are prepared to begin snow clearing operations as needed.

This notice provides a friendly reminder that under Bylaw 89-2000 and the Highway Traffic Act, it is illegal to park on a roadway and obstruct snow clearing operations (24 hours per day, seven (7) days a week).  Please follow your local weather reports and make arrangements to have your vehicle relocated off of the roadway when snow clearing may be required.  Vehicles in violation of this bylaw, are subject to a fine of $35.00 to $50.00.

Snow Clearing Parking Permits are available, however are subject to review and approval by various Department staff.  Please contact the Parking Enforcement Office at 905-735-1700, extensions – 2259, 2250, or 2252 for further details.

- Monday - Fridays
   10 am - 2 pm & 4:30 - 9 pm
- Saturdays 10 am - 6 pm
- Sundays 12 noon - 5 pm
